Thought everything Spacehog revolved around music? Then you haven’t seen anything yet - not until you’ve played Operation Spacehog, anyway.

Somehow using the Spacehog name without getting sued (probably because they don’t seem to be making any money off of it), Free Lunch Design has designed a neat little space shooter that has you zipping through the galaxy in a ship packed with firepower while enemies dart in all directions around you. Naturally, your goal is to shoot them down en masse while avoiding death yourself. Simple enough.

Check the game out here. It’s a decent little time-waster for those of you who need something to do on your lunch break, and it’s free to boot.

And, as with most popular songs, “In The Meantime” was the recipient of a music video that, despite the band’s image, is fairly normal. Pretty much the entire thing is set in a club, with the band playing up on the stage while people watch in the crowd.

And there’s not a whole lot more to it, really. There’s a bit of woman on woman groping, which is also a welcome addition, but besides that you’re just meant to follow the song and enjoy the visuals of the various crowd members (most of them are dressed eclectically, so that helps).

Check it out for yourself below.

Thought Spacehog was out of the picture? Apparently not. Though the band remains defunct one of its primary members is stepping back into the music business: Royston Langdon.

After a number of years away from the game Langdon is back and rehearsing with Velvet Revolver, according to the MTV Newsroom. Langdon had rehearsed for the band a few times and was near the top of their list of potential replacements. He was confirmed as the band’s choice on July 31st, 2008.

Replacement for who, you ask? Scott Weiland, of course. The band ran into a bit of infighting recently that saw its numbers slashed. Having lost their singer they were forced to look elsewhere for that needed vocal power.

And Langdon, it appears, is the vocalist of choice.

Resident Alien is the debut album of the English rock band Spacehog, released in 1995. The album proved quite successful and was certified gold in 1996

Resident Alien was probably Spacehog’s most successful album abroad, its two singles (”In the Meantime” and “Cruel to be Kind”) managing to hit high on the U.S. charts. “In the Meantime” was particularly successful, managing to climb to the top of the U.S. Mainstream Rock charts and to 32nd on the U.S. Top 100 (none of Spacehog’s other songs have similarly placed on the list since then).

Resident Alien features the following songs:

“In The Meantime”
“Spacehog”
“Starside”
“Candyman”
“Space Is The Place”
“Never Coming Down (Part I)”
“Cruel To Be Kind”
“Ship Wrecked”
“Only A Few”
“The Last Dictator”
“Never Coming Down (Part II)”
“Zeroes”
“To Be A Millionaire”

And one hidden track:

“Was It Likely?”
